Even though there is no ready-made event manager module, it is possible to combine the best of what the paddle store has to offer us in combination with other online tools. Below we also explain how to achieve this best.

- 1x web forms (module)

- 1x calendar (module)

- 1x Zapier account

How to prepare?

Below you will find a simple step-by-step plan with a wonderful event manager. Let's cook!

Part 1 - Create content

  • Create a calendar item.
  • Create a form, add fields for all the information you want to receive from the participants. Keep web forms as short as possible.
  • We give the visitors the choice between 3 different dates. How we manage these 3 data is discussed in Part 3.

Part 2 - Couple with Zapier

Because you do not know which date has been chosen, we would like to keep this up and we would like to have a note when a session is full. To do this we use Zapier (www.zapier.com). Zapier makes it possible to connect all kinds of online tools. Definitely worth checking out all the possibilities. You also need Google Spreadsheets (https://www.google.com/sheets/about/).

Go to Zapier, log in or register and choose the following link.

Create a Google Sheet and give the 3 columns the following headers in the first row:

  • Date of submission
  • name
  • Content message

Continue the steps in Zapier as clearly indicated. You must link the 2 above headers to fields at a given time. Do this as follows:

  • Date of submission -> raw date
  • Name -> from
  • Content Message -> Body plain

Of course, make sure that the email address you set in Zapier also receives an email from the web form. Set the sender's name here as "From" field.

Part 3 - View submissions by date (or session, location)

Make sure you know exactly how many people will be there at any session.

Create an extra worksheet in Google Spreadsheet and do something like this:

In the box after March 10, where 1 is now, place the following formula:
= (COUNTIF (Sheet1! C: C, "* March 10 *"))

Now, every time an entry arrives on March 10, the number of participants is added. Would keep you a nice overview of the number of entries on different dates. Of course, this is also perfectly applicable to locations, sessions, etc.
